Mayday madness . . . I can't believe it is almost here, for months there has been planning and just aslong there was media slantery. It seemed daily for the past month there has been some article about anarchist and violence. The other day on the Late Late show, this women from dublin grassroots went on to talk about mayday. This show is the number one tooned in program in the country. Basically if you are not in the pub on Friday evening you are watching this show. It is estimated that at least half the country toons in every Friday. So having a chance to say your side of the story on the Late Late is huge. This women who went on was articulate, funny, attractive and looked "normal". When she said she was an anarchist the host almost fell off his chair. She was able to debunk allot of the myths and rumours around mayday. And this journalist was there who wrote this article titles something like "I infaltrated a secret anarchist meeting" and talks about violence. She put him to shame when she made it clear the meeting was an open meeting well advertised and anyone could go so it would not be possible to inflitrate it. and she made him confess that there was no talk of violence everything was defensive from the violent cops.


well the next day they had a picture of this women looking very presentable in the paper next to a pic of her looking super cute on a bike. She is a soc lecture at UCD. The headline read "Anarchist by night, teachs our children by day" seriously!!! and there was another paper that said "anarchist to gas Bertie" this paper said they recieved an email from an anarchist group (that does not exist) saying they have enough gas to kill thousands and for Irish people to stay home since it is the heads of state they are targeting. I suppose the media and the gardai got a bit scared that we were starting to look good and are pulling out all they got.

Now today three protestors from the UK, mostly likely wombles were arrested. The accomidation centre which was squated was raided last night. The three of them are being held until may 6th on bail of 450 euro each on the charge of tresspassing and iwth possible more serious charges to follow. There protective clothing was taken. I'm sure that the garda will find a way to manipulate the evidence so protective womble clothing turns into weapons.

The gardia are really preparing for a police state here, they have shut down the park that is hosting the talk. This part is huge as big if not bigger then highpark. They are putting barbed wire around the whole of the perifery. And they willhave 5000 gardia and army people out on the street.

The thing is we are expecting less then 1000 people to come out to this . . . so we will be out number at least 5:1.
